Cognitive Atoms is in beta and a real person reads everything sent to these addresses.
Email support@cognitiveatoms.com. We aim to reply within two business days.
It helps enormously if you include what you were doing, what you expected, and what happened instead. Please do not send us the contents of your captured cognition — we do not need it, and we would rather not have it.
In local-only mode, on your own machine: we do not receive a copy of what you capture and there is no background sync to us. With a hosted account (beta) — including the Claude connector — what you capture is stored server-side in your own account, scoped to your account at the database layer, and used only to serve your own capture, recall, and continuity. See the Privacy Policy (§4.5).
Through a relay that connects the AI app to your machine without being able to read what passes through — the encrypted session runs end to end between the app and your computer, and the key stays on your computer. §3 of the Privacy Policy explains precisely what the relay can and cannot see.
Cognitive Atoms on your machine keeps working. In local-only mode your cognition is on your device, not behind the relay — only the connection from an AI app depends on it. A hosted account is served by us, so while our service is down your hosted cognition is unreachable until it is back.
In local-only mode, delete the Cognitive Atoms data folder on your machine and it is gone; we have no copy to delete.
For a hosted account we do hold a copy, so deletion is something that
happens on our side — but you start it yourself. Open Profile in the
iPhone or Android app, or your profile page when you are signed in on the web, choose
Delete my account, and type delete my account to confirm.
That immediately removes everything you captured in the account and where it was imported
from, every source you connected and the tokens held for it, the AI-provider keys and
connections you added, every AI-app connection grant and its tokens, your connector keys
and their audit trail, your cohort membership and any invite you redeemed, and your
projects and record overlays. If a step fails, the app says so instead of reporting
success.
Three things it does not remove. The bare account record — your email address and sign-in credential — is deleted by us afterwards and confirmed to you within 30 days. A beta-list entry made in our deploy configuration goes at our next configuration change; it is a name on an access list with no data behind it. And anything on your own machine stays yours to delete. §4.5 of the Privacy Policy says the same at length.
To remove your waitlist email as well, write to privacy@cognitiveatoms.com — and the same address will run the whole deletion for you if you would rather ask than click.
You connect your own provider account or key. We do not resell provider access and we never fall back to a key of ours. In local-only mode the key stays on your device and we never receive it. With a hosted account you give it to our server, because our server is what calls the provider for you; we store it encrypted at rest in a slot belonging to your account, never use it to serve anyone else, and delete it when you delete your account.
Please write to security@cognitiveatoms.com rather than disclosing publicly. We will work with you and we will not pursue good-faith research.
